2 Tags

I have been tagged a couple of times, well actually just once but the other one just looked fun to do!

High School Tag

1. Did you date someone from high school?
No, a few people now and then but I think the longest relationship I ever had was a three month fiasco with someone I spent way too much time worrying about. Oh if only we could do things over sometimes, why did I care so much?

2. What kind of car did you drive?
Interesting question because I did not drive a car. My junior year Teri and I shared a Mitsubishi Mirage? I think that is what it was, not sure because I never actually drove it. It was a stick shift which I refused to learn how to drive, so Teri pretty much drove me everywhere. When I was a senior and a few months away from graduating I did buy my first car a Geo Prism.

3.Did you pass your drivers licence test the first time?
Yes, barely. The written I did great on got a 98%, however the actual driving part I got an 81%. What can I say I have always hated driving. I would love to live in New York and just get a cab for everything, eliminate half the stress in my life.

4. Where you a party animal?
NOOOO! I almost always had to be talked into everything even remotely crazy. I went toilet papering one time and spent the entire night convinced the police were coming after me. In my little group of friends Stace and I were the level headed ones, good thing for Teri, Teryl and Deeann they gave some excitement to our group. Not that you are not exciting Stace, we are just two peas in a pod.

5. Were you considered a flirt?
No, definitely not. In fact probably the opposite I have always been happy being the shadow behind my sister. Growing up she always got more attention than I did, and I really loved it that way.

6. Were you in band, orchestra or choir?
No again, I am not very musically inclined.

7. Where is number 7?

8. Were you on any varsity teams?
No, boy I was really boring in high school, maybe I shouldn't have done this tag. I think I have answered no to everything.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Does somebody want to guess the answer to this question, I am pretty sure it's a no brainer.

10. Can you still sing your school song?
Can I still? I never could.

11. Who were you favorite teachers?
I really don't remember anyone standing out in high school as far as teachers go, but I do have a few teachers from junior high that I really liked. Miss Tasso and Brother Richardson were my favorites. That was really the only year in seminary that I really loved, which is kinda sad. I went into high school thinking seminary was so great and it was kind of a let down. I mean they were okay teachers but nothing like Brother Richardson. He set the bar too high for anyone else.

12. Where did you sit during lunch?
We never stayed at school, well maybe we did sophomore year because nobody could drive yet. But junior and senior year we alternated between McDonald's McChickens, Wendy's bacon cheeseburger or Target 7-layer burritos. How the heck did I not gain any weight, I don't remember ever even thinking about how bad that was for me every day. Girls I also remember some scary rides particularly when Teri or Teryl was driving not to mention five girls screaming our heads off every time we slammed on the breaks, so fun!

13. What is your schools full name?
Northridge High School

14. School Mascot and colors?
Knights--cardinal and silver. Was it just me or did anybody else think we had the coolest colors and mascot ever. Especially coming from junior high Longhorns orange and black. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum there.

15. Did you go to Homecoming and with who?
No to sophomore year I wasn't 16 yet of course how could I. I am drawing a blank on junior year Teri did I go I can't remember? I think I did with Wyatt Kennah and senior year I went with Brian Heslop.

16. If you could go back and do it again would you?
Sure for a few days maybe, I loved my girls back then. They are and always will be some of the greatest friends I have ever had. WE NEED TO SEE EACH OTHER MORE!!!!!!!!! Though I so don't miss the drama of high school not to mention the need to actually do your hair every day. Being a pony tailed mom works much better with my schedule these days.

17. What do you remember most about graduation?
Being THRILLED I was finally done with school. From January on I was more than ready to get the heck out of there, I don't really remember being at all sad about my changing world.

18. Where did you go senior skip day?
No such thing for us, though I remember skipping all the time. My mom never cared as long as I told her and kept my grades up. Which was not hard for me at all, I always did well in school. I had a tally for all of my classes and every time I would miss a class I would tally it to make sure I never got my citizenship grade lower than Satisfactory. So anytime I needed a break I would see which class I had the least absents in and by the end of the semester I had four in every class.

19. Were you in any clubs?
Big surprise no I was not.

20. Have you gained some weight since then?
No but it is certainly not as easy to keep weight off. I actually have to think about it now and watch what I eat more than I ever did in high school. And let's face it you just never look the same after having kids, the scale may say I weigh the same. But all I know is my pants certainly do not fit the same.

21. I am not sure where 21 is either?

22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?
I never even heard of our five year reunion, I was in Kentucky at the time but still. Did we even have one and was it any fun?

23. Did you have a job while in high school.
Yes the summer between my sophomore and junior year I got a job as a ten hour teller at America First Credit Union. I LOVED it back then it was the perfect after school job, can't say I loved it much after high school but it was a job and payed the bills.

I could not do this post and not put these pictures up of my cute friends, Ter I stole these off your blog from a few months ago.

Here we are what 7 years ago? Teryl Layton, Teri, Deeann Gardner, me, and Stacey Love.
What would I have done without my cute girls, you guys made some of the most what could have been stressful teen years, some of the greatest years of my life. I have the most wonderful memories with you and love that our friendship has maintained over the years even if we only see each other maybe twice a year. You are and always will be some of my greatest girlfriends, I love you!

Here we are just this year at Teryl's baby shower for baby Cohen, we can still laugh for hours over Bekah's cabin, Teryl and Bekah and the fry sauce fight, "Days of our lives" and of course our pageants. Such happy memories!!!!!

Okay this post took forever, I am all tagged out. I will do my other tag in a few days this really took it out of me and I have put off going to the grocery store long enough......

Ps. In case any of you are wondering why I spaced between some questions and not others the answer is I don't know. My computer is driving me crazy I keep trying to fix it and it's really making me mad. So sorry nobody mind my imperfect looking post!

Grandparents Day

We had Grandparents Day at Luke's school this morning were we got to invite the grandparents to come and spend the morning with us for activities, games and of course treats!!!
My mom (Grandma Tereasa) and Eric's mom (Grandma Smith) were both able to come and of course Lance. Lance was so excited he thinks it's so funny that Luke goes to school, every time I tell him Luke and I are going to school he asks "for his ears"? He thought he was pretty cool getting to come with us not to mention his two favorite Grandma's were coming too.

Luke is suddenly becoming shy in new settings like Lance. He is usually okay at school but today we combined classes with the preschoolers and toddlers, so instead of four kids there was ten, plus all the extras. We had a hard time getting a cute smile out of him at first, he was being a Grandmas boy.

First project tracing our hands or in Luke's case just scribbling....

Luke is known around the school as the garbage disposal, snack time is his FAVORITE!!!! There are four kids in his class and he is the only one that really enjoys snack time. Every day right before it's time to go home we go outside and play and then come in for snack time. Luke is always the first kid to the sink to wash his hands, forget drying them he just runs to the table and plops himself down squawking until someone puts a plate in front of him. I am always glad we have snack time last, otherwise I don't think I would be able to drag him away. Here he is enjoying his sugar cookie he couldn't even wait for the frosting and sprinkles, that would take WAY to long. After all breakfast was two hours ago, a little boy could starve in that amount of time between meals.

Grandma Tereasa took us out to lunch afterwards, the choice was ours were we wanted to go. Cafe Rio, Chili's......NOOO it had to be Wendy's. Lance has it in his head that Wendy's is my mom's favorite restaurant, we went to lunch with her one day on her lunch hour and now every time we go with her Lance insists it has to be Wendy's. What's really cute is if you know Lance you know his favorite restaurant is McDonald's. So when we pass McDonald's on our way he has to break it to them gently. "Donalds I gotta go to Wendy's with my Mandma Okay". I don't know how to break it to him that McDonald's could care less if he visits them or not. He's such a loyal fan!

Thanks Grandma's for coming with us, we loved sharing the day with you! It was great being able to share with the important people in Luke's life what he is doing on a daily basis. I love this program, his teachers are incredible, the school is remarkable and most importantly I have already seen improvements in Luke. This week he has mastered his first word "Uh-Oh". I will try to get it on video tape for you all, it's brings tears to my eyes every time he says it. I know that seems like a minor accomplishment but for him this is huge! It is such a blessing we were able to enroll him in this school.

Weddings!

You can just never have too many pictures in front of the temple, particularly the Logan temple. It's so gorgeous, not to mention the grounds are great as well; the flowers, fountains and everything else makes it easy to get some sweet pictures of family. My cousin got married last Friday and it was the first wedding for someone other than immediate family that I have been able to attend. What a happy day spent with my wonderful Williams side of the family. Most importantly congratulations Zach and Brittany it was a beautiful day. We are so excited for you guys to begin your life together!
The happy couple!
Our stand in husband/father of the day. No one takes better care of me and the boys than my sweet brother-in-law Thiago. He is the best, Lance the scaredy cat was scared to stay in the waiting room with my cute cousins during the sealing. So Thiago volunteered to stay out with the boys, Carson and Brevin. Pretty much the entire day he always had one of my kids in his hands, Lancey loves "Tago" and Luke is a full time job for all of us to keep up with him. Basically every twenty minutes or so we swap Luke around so one person is not following Luke around on his many adventures of the day. I got so blessed in the brother in law department, all of them are the greatest!
These sweet boys they bring such a smile to my face, just look at the love between them....
These three cousins were all born within two weeks of each other, it's fun getting them together every now and then. Gehrig is my cousin Randy Jo's little guy, he's got the funniest little personality!

I feel a little bad about these boys picking the flowers all along the grounds of the temple. It was getting hard to keep these boys entertained during all the picture taking. They really enjoyed picking a few flowers for their mommies and grandmas and then letting us smell them. Here we are " drinking in the blossoms".
Grandpa and Luke! A funny story about my darling dad after the ceremony and before the reception we went out to lunch at "Firestone Pizza". Teri, Carson, Lance and I went to the bathroom so Carson could use the "potty" and Lance could observe and hopefully be inspired to get the deed done himself. I left my dad in charge of Luke and when we returned he was no where in sight. I asked him and Ashley were he was and they both pointed in one general direction and said he was playing by the candy machines. Well I panicked not seeing him anywhere and started asking people near our table if they had seen a little boy with hearing aids. To which all of them responded no, so I keep looking. You mothers all know that feeling of pure terror when you can't find your child, your mind starts playing all kinds of tricks on you and you automatically start thinking of the worst situations. Not to mention Luke is a terror and can get into trouble faster than any kid I know these days. After a few minutes of no luck, my sister Teri and I really start panicking and all of a sudden one of the workers comes out of the kitchen carrying Luke with a bunch of pizza boxes in his hands. He just laughs and says he wasn't causing any trouble just found the empty pizza boxes and was having a hay day with them but he figured someone was worrying about him.
Lesson learned never leave my dad and Ashley in charge of Luke again!!!! I should have taken a picture of him with his boxes but I was so humiliated and traumatized that I just didn't think about it at the time.

Premiere Week

Oh.... the last week of September quite possibly one of my favorite weeks of the year. I hope I am not setting myself up to look like a fool but I am beyond EXCITED for the season premieres that are all on this week.

This year however is extra exciting though. My entire household Granny, Lance and Luke are all in bed by 8:00 and I can't be too noisy because Granny has to get up at 3 AM to be at the temple on time (she's a temple worker twice a week). So what other option do I have but to go upstairs and watch all my favorite shows without any disturbances. The disturbances used to be a husband walking out of his office at exactly 9:07 right as I had gotten into the beginning of a show. He tells me whatever I am watching is retarded and killing brain cells and can't we watch something that both of us enjoy? What would that be you ask? An episode of Seinfeld from our collection of the entire 1-9 seasons or is it 10? I am not sure, either way I get SICK of watching Seinfeld all the time. Sorry honey but this is a huge advantage of you being gone, and really the only thing that is actually got me a little excited. Of course I would much rather have you here watching our famous " The Jimmy" episode but I will take what I can get and enjoy the peace of watching my must see TV each week.

Side note... I asked Eric as I was driving home from my mom's house tonight if he would save me the trouble of downloading the pictures on here, and being the sweetheart he is of course he said yes. (Or maybe he was just sick of staring at his book he is reading and has been reading all day today...Sunday's are the worst for the poor guy) Anyways when I got home and pulled this up not only did he have the pictures but a little caption under each of them. I left them on here because I got a kick out of his point of view of these shows. I think you can tell what is coming from Eric and what is coming from me.

HEROES

(Heroes is a show about people with super powers that fight evil (what an original plotline). Exactly how these powers beset these people is a mystery that the producers hope viewers will overlook and is never resolved throughout the show. This is a great show for anyone that doesn't have superpowers, but wishes they did. )

The Office

( Great show though with the low standard set by everything else on television, that might not be saying all that much. )

Grey's Anatomy

(Oh...where to start. This is a great show for people that aren't doctors who like to watch people that aren't doctors act like they are doctors. When are they going to come up with a real show about doctors where you walk in and sit in a waiting room for half-an-hour and then the doctor sees you for 30 seconds and writes you an illegible prescription? I think that that would be a good show--by far the most realistic on television. )

It's here and it's loved!

Late Summer Days

Does anyone else feel as summer is coming to a close the urgent need to spend lazy afternoons in the park while that beautiful sun is still warm and beating on your back? While you can still dress your kids in shorts and flip flops and not worry about bundling up or keeping warm. I am just as excited for fall and cooler weather as the next person, but I am so going to miss the easy days of summer. I love watching the boys run around outside to their little hearts content, picnics in the park, feeding the ducks and all of the glorious things about SUMMER!

We spent the afternoon yesterday at "Willow Park" the boys had a grand old time. Along with the usual swings and slides they also have a little walk through zoo. Mostly just featuring birds and ducks but we did see a porcupine and some turtles. To little ones that is just as exciting as seeing a tiger or bear. And as I mentioned in my fair posts these littler animals are definitely more on Lance's level, less to be scared of.
Ps. Nobody mind the practically bald looks my boys are sporting right now (particularly you Eric, I know you hate the too short look). But what can I say Lance HATES getting his hair cut, so if I can avoid it for even a week longer and buzz it really short, well that's worth it to me, Besides I do think they look kind off cute. I just wish I had remembered we are going to a wedding tomorrow, oh well, it grows.

I love being your mother...

So sometimes I think the blogging world is kind of funny, don't get me wrong I love it, but there is some things that are just kind of funny. It seems that everybody paints a picture of their perfect little lives, with no problems. And while for the most part I totally do that to today I have to do something a little different. This blog is working as a journal for me and where for the most part my life is as happy as it seems there are things that I struggle with and years from now I want to remember the emotions I go through in life.

I would be lying to myself if I said this last month hasn't been really hard for me, it has been one of the hardest months I can remember for quite sometime. Sometimes do any of you feel like your life is at some sort of a standstill and nothing is really moving forward? I have been struggling with these thoughts the last couple of weeks. I look around at all of my cute friends blogs and everything seems to be working out for everyone but me. I don't own a house, I am not pregnant nor will I be for quite sometime, my husband doesn't have an exciting new job. All I have to say for myself right now is I am living with my Grandma, with two little boys and a husband that is miles away. My greatest joy in life is being a wife, mother, and homemaker for my loved ones. It sort of feels like I am only doing 1 out of 3 at the moment. I miss getting my fall decorations up, making dinner (because let's face why bother cooking for two little boys that only eat half of what I make) and most importantly I miss sharing my daily life with my best friend. My bed feels so empty at night and even though our cell phones are getting 8 or 9 phone calls a day from each other it is just not the same. I feel the stress of being the only person caring for two little lives. I find myself getting frustrated over things that really are no big deal. A glass of spilled milk sends me into a fit of tears. Most importantly I know I am not being fair to my kids they deserve better right now. This is hard for them too, and they deserve a happy mom. Not one that is biting their heads off left and right and taking out my stress on them.

So I really don't want to sound like some sort of a bawl baby but I guess it's just fair to say life was getting me down. This last weekend I have been thinking about all of these things that are bothering me and in my usual fashion I laid awake until 1 or 2 in the morning thinking over the next day and not being able to turn my mind off to get some sleep. I needed something to do to take my mind off problems and started flipping through random blogs. I came across one of a mother of four girls that recently lost the youngest in a drowning incident. Her blog amazed me, her strength and insight at a hard time in her life astounds me. If you would like to be uplifted take a look at her blog adailyscoop.blogspot.com.

I couldn't sleep the rest of the night for being so put out with myself, that I am surrounded by my wonderful blessings. The two most important were sound asleep in their beds for me to hold and touch and cherish. And here I was spending way to much time feeling sorry for myself and not realizing the greatest blessing of my life it to be a mother to my sweet boys.

I can still be a mother even if I don't have a home or a place of my own. I can still be a wife even though my husband is far from me. And most importantly I can still be a homemaker. I think a homemaker is someone that surrounds her family with love and safety from a scary world. I have been entrusted with these little lives especially at this crucial time when I am the only parent around on a daily basis. I have forgotten the reason we made this decision to have me come to Utah and Eric in DC. It was not to be closer to family, to ensure a good job, or to make life easier for anyone. It was a sacrifice we made for the welfare of our son. I believe when I first hear Luke utter his first little word this sacrifice will have been worth it. A sacrifice isn't meant to be easy and I am accepting that this year will not feel complete and right, that it will be hard and trying at times. But that is why it is called a sacrifice and I WILL NOT let my children down. I will lose myself in caring for them. Take the time that I used to spend cleaning my kitchen or decorating my home in spending hours with Luke in his therapy ensuring his success. Playing hide and seek with Lance and teaching him how to write his name. And most importantly loving them with every ounce I have to give them, they deserve a happy mom and not one that is in mourning for what I don't have.

Above all I want these two boys to know that it is not a job, it's an opportunity, a privilege. It is a blessing and an adventure. I lOVE BEING YOUR MOTHER......

Sorry so serious, tommorow I will be carefree and happy again, light as a feather!

"Buzz" Latest

Honestly how long can an obsession last for, I thought kids had a short attention span. Lance began his love of "Buzz Lightyear" almost a year ago and he is STILL going as strong as ever with his first LOVE. He has discovered a new pastime to do with Buzz and this time he can also include Woody. Grandma has the air conditioner in the windows to keep the house cool. I have one in my bedroom and the boys and I spend a lot of time up here because basically everything we own is in this room. They both love to open the little screen that is next to the air conditioner and poke their little heads out into the world. Don't worry the opening isn't wide enough for them to fall through, I made sure of that. Lance's favorite thing however is to have a flight rescue mission for Woody headed up by Buzz. If you have seen Toy Story you know the part where Buzz falls out the window and all the toys try to save him. Lance lines up all the characters along the windowsill and then the action begins with yelling "Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue" the only difference between him and the movie is it's Woody who needs the saving not Buzz. Hello, like a superhero like Buzz would ever need saving?

We are also ready to go for Halloween Buzz has been ordered and should be coming any day now. I only hope Lance isn't around when it comes otherwise I don't think the costume will make it until Halloween. He is so excited! I don't know if I have mentioned it on this blog but every night when Lance goes to bed he gets to pick a favorite toy or two or five to take with him to bed. He doesn't play with them he just likes knowing they are near him. For the last two weeks he has taken the torn page from the catalog featuring his costume to bed with him and it gets the honor of sleeping on the pillow with him. Love this kid, he is so cute!

Utah State Fair

It's fair time round 3, though with a few twists. This time it was the Utah State Fair and we went with Grandma and Grandpa Smith and my sister-in-law Gaby and her two kids Julia and Josh. Other than that we had the same old great time at the fair that we did with the county fairs. Though I discovered the State Fairs have a few more interesting varieties of food to offer. Does deep fried twinkies, peanut butter and jelly sandwich or snickers bar sound appetizing to any of you? If so head on down, surprisingly those lines were really pretty big. They must have some appeal to them, I want to puke just thinking about it.
A cute little bunch of carrots, this picture took some doing. Of course this one is the best we could do and Josh was busy sleeping the night away in the stroller.
First we went and saw all of the animals. My niece Julia was so cute she loved them all, Lance spent his time in Grandpa's arms that was the only way we could get him to look at those monstrous beasts the pig's and sheep's. Who knew a sheep could be so terrifying, or the pigs they are really menacing laying their covered in dirt and flies.
Up close and personal with the chickens. I guess the key to getting Lance to look at animals on his own instead of the security of Grandpa's arms is to make sure the animals are an 1/8 of his size. This way he knows who is boss, he could certainly beat a chicken in a fight if it came down to that.
Cousins they are so cute together! Julia doesn't have a big brother I guess Lance is taking over that role for her. I love his little arm around her shoulders.

And of course the rides, I was so lucky to be Luke's riding companion on them all. I had no idea the "Crazy Caterpillar" could be so crazy. Why am I the only one that found that a little nauseating, if three year olds could handle it you would think I could as well.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Smith we loved it!

Weekend Recap...

I had this very full and fun weekend planned and while part of it went as planned it didn't go quite the way I had expected. Friday night my mom sisters and I all went to see "Mamma Mia" which has definitely been out for awhile but none of us has seen it yet. It was so great! I can't wait to buy it when it comes out on DVD, and I have Abba's greatest hits that I have been listening to ever since in anticipation for when it is released to buy. Then the bad news hit of the weekend, the flu has been going around and we all caught it on Friday, Poor Luke has not stopped puking for five days now and I even got a touch of it myself, no fun. So Saturday was spent changing Luke out of about five different outfits when I finally just gave up and put him in pajamas at 4:oo in the afternoon at my sister Teri's baby shower. Monday which I still consider part of the weekend because my mom and both sisters all have the day off, so we play all day. Anyways it was my brother in law's birthday and we had planned to go to Tepanyaki to celebrate, well he and Teri both woke up on Monday sick as dogs and spent the day in bed. Thiago wasn't too bad but Teri was awful and ended up going to Tepanyaki anyway while the majority of our party barely ate because everybody was still so sick. I however loved every minute of it and well worth that expensive bill at the end. On the bright side at least I was only paying for one and not two. You know me always looking at the bright side of Eric being gone (ha ha)!

Luke was in a pickle because we had such a large group that his highchair would not fit under the table and he sort of sat in the corner. How is that close enough to fling food, bang spoons or cause a ruckus? He was not too happy of a camper. "Nobody sits Luke in a corner" . Who knows what that line is from, I will give you a hint it's from the 80's?

I always have my hopes up that Lance will shock me one of these days and actually enjoy a new experience instead of being scared. That was not the case this time, he spent the whole time under the table scared to death of the guy cooking. I thought his eyes were going to bug right out of his head when they lit the fire. It was at that point that even hiding under the table wouldn't cut it and he had to be taken out into the lobby until the show was over and he would return to the table to eat his dinner. Oh well maybe next time. Happy birthday Thiago, we sure do love you!

37 Facts/ Tagged!

Thanks Ash, you know I love tags! The only problem is lately I have the hardest time finding any time to get new posts up, well for me anyway. I realize I still probably do more than your average blogger but what can I say I am a journaler. (Warning these are way random questions, I wonder who came up with this one.)

1.Do you like bleu cheese? No, though I can't honestly say I have ever tried it, just the thought of it sounds disgusting. Eric however is a big fan of quality Bleu Cheese dressing, no store brand kinds though.

2. Have you ever smoked? No, I also have never been offered, lucky me!

3. Do you own a gun? No, thank goodness, the idea of owning one bothers both me and Eric. I can't get the image of one of my children getting hurt with one out of my mind, we will never have one.

4. What flavor kool-aid was your favorite? Was? Still is Grape, are they meaning this is a kids drink and adults no longer like it. I still love the stuff, I buy it more for me than my boys.

5. Do you get nervous before Dr. appointments? Well no, but I certainly don't love them, who does? I really get nervous before dentist appointments, they send me into a panic weeks in advance.

6. What do you think of hot dogs? If you think about them too much, they do sound revolting. So I choose to just ignore where they are coming from and slather on all that good ketchup, relish, and cheese and scarf them down. LOVE THEM!

7. Favorite Christmas movie? It's a tossup between "It's a wonderful life" and "Home alone". Two complete opposites, but I do love them both. Though really I can't think of many Christmas movies I don't love, I will probably start watching them the first of October to really welcome the Christmas season in.

8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Well I should say juice or something, but I would be totally lying if I didn't say a coke. And Jill you can't accuse me of being an alcoholic, I drink caffeine free usually. I just really love the fizz first thing in the morning, who needs juice?

9. Can you do push ups? No, I have no desire to even try. Why torture myself?

10. What's your favorite piece of jewelry? Of course my wedding ring, I love it. Mostly just what it represents, though it is gorgeous if I say so myself. Though lately I am really liking earrings too, I can't get enough of them.

11. Favorite hobby? I kind off have a lot of hobbies that I bounce around with. The top ones are always reading, writing and scrapbooking, probably in that order.

12. Do you have ADD? No and I can't think of anything else to say for this but no I don't.

13. Do you wear glasses/contacts? No and I am so grateful, I hope this is always the case. My parents both have terrible eyes, so I really don't know how I lucked out with good vision.

14. Middle name? Lynn, after my dad his middle name is Lynn as well.

15. Name three thoughts at this exact moment? My neck hurts and I wish Eric was around to get the knots out, My kids have been sick all weekend long and I really hope there will be no puking tonight, and that is really all that is going on in my head right now.

16. Name three drinks you regularly drink? Coke, milk, water.

17. Current worry? I kind off have a lot right now, too many to think about.

18. Current hate right now? A situation a loved one is in right now, that I wish I had some way of helping with. I hate feeling helpless.

19. Favorite place to be? I don't know it used to be my house but know I guess it would just be somewhere where my loved ones are surrounding me and my boys are happy. That is a number of places right now.

20. How did you bring in the New Year? I really can't remember I am pretty sure we were at a party of one of Eric's good friends. I really would just rather spend it at home with my kids, this year I am insisting on it. I must be getting old or something, staying out late partying just wears me out.

21. Where would you like to go? Disneyland, with either all of my family or Eric's family. Hint, hint anyone. I would love to watch the boys enjoy the experience with cousins while Lance is still in his Mickey Mouse loving years. Next summer this better happen.

22. Name three people who will complete this? I don't know whoever wants to.

23. Do you own slippers? No and I am sorry slipper lovers, but I can't stand the things. I would never waste my money on slippers if my feet get cold I put on thick socks, it works great!

24. What shirt are you wearing? A Davis High soccer T-shirt. A pajama shirt I inherited from my brother in law. Thanks Souli, it's one of my favorites.

25. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? I never have slept on satin sheets, but I don't think I would like them. I don't really like silky things, flannel or cotton is more my thing.

26. Can you whistle? Yes and I used to think I was really good until I met Eric. He is a great whistler I am just mediocre.

27. Favorite color? Yellow, I have loved it since I was five.

28. Would you be a pirate? No and I really can't imagine why that would be appealing to anyone. At least not us girls, maybe a boy might think that sounded nice.

29. What songs do you sing in the shower? Whatever song is in my head, currently it is all the songs from "Mamma Mia" I saw it this weekend and have been singing them ever since.

30. Favorite girls name? Abbigail, I am beginning to doubt I will ever be able to put this name to good use.

31. Favorite boys name? Matthew, both Lance and Luke would have been Matthew but unfortunately for me I have a brother in law named Matthew and Eric refuses to let me use it. What really drives me nuts is he doesn't even go by Matthew he goes by Matt, so why can't I have a son named Matthew. I would never shorten it or let anyone else, so sad.

32. What's in your pocket right now? Cell phone, can't miss a call from my sweetie, I miss him.

33. Last thing that made you laugh? I can't remember I spent the day with my mom and sisters that's all we do is laugh.

34. Worst injury you have ever had? Probably in my car accident when I couldn't see out of my left eye for a month, that wasn't fun.

35. What vehicle do you drive? Honda Odyssey, I just love my min van. How did I survive without it?

36. Do you love where you love? Well no. I love my Grandma's house and I love her. But this is most definitely not my ideal living situation, I can't wait to have my own little place again with my whole family. I do however love that my boys are getting this opportunity to get to know my sweet Grandma like I do, they will have so many wonderful memories to take with them.

37. How many televisions do you have in your house? Well I guess I will count my Grandma's and she has four. For one tiny little house she sure does have a lot of televisions, pretty much one in every room all that's missing is the bathroom.

A Little School Boy

Today was the big day for little Luke, I would like to say he was really excited and anticipating this day for months, but come on he is only 20 months with really no clue as to what was coming. But yes it's true he is my little schoolboy, and he loved every minute of his day. We had to be there at 9:30 and it goes until 11:00 a perfect amount of time for little ones I think. I was nervous for this new experience he has had therapy for sometime now, but this was a new experience being a school like setting with peers. It just went so perfectly, I just love this kid. He walked right in, put his name tag on, played with toys, sang songs, played the games, and devoured his snack. Or more like inhaled his snack, shocking Luke enjoying his food, who knew? I was just so proud of him and so thrilled to be able to experience this with him, it will break my heart when he turns three and I no longer get to go with him. He was so stinkin cute, and I so shouldn't brag but he can be such a little charmer it's just so hard not to love the little guy. His little friends were so darling, and the other mom's were wonderful. I hit it off with them right from the start which is so great because we will be spending a lot of time with each other. It's so nice to feel that friendship right from the beginning. On Monday I am going to take my camera and document all that he does throughout the morning, I was going to today but didn't want to be the mom who kept pulling out the camera on the first day. Anyways this is getting long, but Luke I love you and am so proud of the little person that you are. You are such a blessing in our lives!

Lou and I both got back to school outfits, what's the fun of starting school if you don't get a new outfit. I also got him a CARS backpack but unfortunately it was too heavy for him so I ended up carrying it for him.

"Mom I think I might drive today, if that's okay?"

My sweet sisters came up from Layton to watch Lance for me while we were gone and one of my very best friends from high school Stacey just lives about five ten minutes away from me so we all met up afterward and had lunch at Firehouse Pizza, which is the best pizza I have EVER had, so good! I think people thought we were insane bringing six kids out to eat, but we had so much fun, thanks girls. There is just something about lunch with the girls that rejuvenates you and makes you feel more like a person and not just a mommy. Next time let's shoot for leaving the kids with the husbands or in my case the Grandma's.

It was a great first day of school and Luke and I are so excited for the coming year. Okay more so me, but he will love it once he gets there each day!
