TWELVE

TWELVE weeks along
ELEVEN o'clock am nausea at it's worst
TEN trips to the bathroom daily
NINE serious discussions on good strong names
EIGHT weeks of feeling nothing but sick and tired, oh so tired
SEVEN shirts tried on for girls night out only to end up hating them all
SIX packs of raw hamburger tossed out because the smell was just getting to me
FIVE bowls of Blueberry Pomegranate ice cream daily
FOUR pounds gained
THREE ultrasounds
TWO excited, ecstatic soon to be big brothers
all because.....
ONE baby is on the way!

The little darling two weeks ago at 10 weeks

The little darling mother (yeah right, I am feeling anything but darling) at 12 weeks!

That's right we have Smith baby number 3 on the way coming to us April 18th, (AND NO SOONER!). We are of course thrilled to be adding on to our family, but given our circumstances with Luke very apprehensive to be giving this a go again. We have a wonderfull doctor who is watching me extremely closely and is quick to reassure it was most likely a fluke thing with Luke, but still..... We are praying daily this one will go full term, you will never hear me complain about being a week over my due date that would just be delightful (says I right now). So friends if you have any extra prayers floating around send some our way that all will go nice and smoothly with this pregnancy. I don't think I will feel completely at ease until this little one arrives safe and sound it's going to be a long six months waiting it out, but boy are we excited to have one of these gracing our household again......

(just with no oxygen please)

Sorry Lancey no baby picture of you that was before our digital camera days, but a mighty cute one of a little Luke!

Come on April, we can hardly wait!

Grandparents Day

They have "Grandparents Day" every year in September at Luke's school. Basically the grandparents are invited for a fun morning of crafts, story time, and treats of course. They also give out tips and ideas to the Grandparents to help them better able to communicate with their hearing impaired grandchildren. I feel all of Luke's grandparents are wonderful at finding ways to communicate with Luke, but new tips and ideas are always beneficial even for me. Thanks Elaine for joining today, so Luke could have a grandparent to show off to all of his little buddies. I realize he was throwing a fit for a good half of the time but same idea, we all had fun I think, after Luke gave up on his tantrum that is. Oh the terrible 2's have stuck good and hard in our household with this kid.

For the most part I think Lance gets a bigger kick out of these parties than Luke does, he is always invited and loves arts and crafts he was heaven this morning with all the fun stuff they had for the kids to do with their grandparents, thank goodness I have one easygoing child.

After a few minutes (30 to be exact) he calmed down enough to actually enjoy himself and have some fun......
But there are never any tantrums when food is part of the activity it's a win win with this kid!

A Happy Note...

It's official, Eric can now call himself a lawyer, he got the good news in the mail yesterday that he passed the bar! What good timing all ready to celebrate for our date night tonight, only question is should we go here:

Le Nonne

Which I hear is the best Italian restaurant in Cache Valley, but I have never tried it before. It's quaint and cozy nestled in a little house off Main Street.

Or here:

Hamiltons

Which I know is the best seafood and steak house in Cache Valley, it's big and fancy and a little more pricey but oh so worth it.

What would you do? Do I want pasta or steak, it's such a hard decision, HELP ME, we have some celebrating to do!

Kitchen/Half Bath

Finally my first two rooms in the house are officially done, everything else is still a work in progress. I pretty much hated all my decorations so I have been slowly collecting new ones to fill in the spots. The kitchen and my half bath are the first rooms to have pictures hung and all decorations in place.

Just a few corners in those rooms that bring me joy every time I walk by.
More to come.......

Flashback from the Past

Have I ever mentioned how Eric and I met on this blog?
I am not sure if I have, so here is a little history:
We grew up in neighboring wards to each other, though Eric is four years older than me so we were never in the same school together. My uncle Steve and aunt Tammy just happened to be in Eric's ward growing up while my uncle served in the young men's for close to 20 years.
Every Sunday even after he was released a bunch of his boys would come over and visit, play basketball, and eat my uncle's famous cinnamon rolls. Tam is my second mother and Jill their daughter is my fourth sister, so naturally we would be up there quite often come Sunday nights as well.
I think the first time I met Eric I was maybe 13 or 14 years old and he was somewhere around 17. I was nowhere near thinking of him in any romantic terms at this point in our lives. We grew to be good friends with quite a few of these "boys" of my uncles, Eric included. I remember distinctly many of them mowing our lawn and such after my parents got divorced.
A few years later Eric returned from his mission, I was a senior in high school we met up again at my aunt's house and the rest is history.
A week or so ago one of these "boys" thought it would be fun to have a reunion of the good old days where the boys would have a rousing game of Basketball and now us girls with our many children would sit around and chat and watch these "old men" try to impress each other, by proving they still have what it takes to play the game.
It was a wonderful night, full of memories from the good old days!!
Thanks Blake for the planning this get together and Steve and Tam for hosting, let's do it again!!

Littlest School Boy

My last little boy has officially started school for the year, yesterday was Luke's first day back at Sound Beginnings. I tried for fifteen minutes to get a good picture of the boy only to compete with Granny's bag of candy she brought for him on his first day (she watches Lance for me while Luke and I go to school). I am sad to say the bag of candy won and I got zero attention from Luke and finally accepted this was the best picture I was going to get from him

His first day went really well, he is the oldest in his class now so it's up to him to set the good example, I am pleased to say he did just that. He was very talkative and not in his usual clam up mode. His new teacher is wonderful and and his little classmates were as cute as they come. Have a good school year Lou!

We met up with Grandma Tereasa for lunch at the Dixie Grill in Brigham, we were all in the mood for greasy hamburgers. School really works up an appetite for little fellas.......

Oh I don't know what's with me and food lately, it all just tastes so good, doesn't that cheeseburger look sinful....it was believe me.
(sorry I will try to refrain myself from any more pictures of food on this blog)

Hogle Zoo

For Labor Day we took the kids to Hogle Zoo along with my sisters and their kids. Last time we went to a zoo was when Lance was 2 and Luke was just a little guy. Unfortunately we choose a busy busy day for the zoo apparently that's the place to be on Labor Day it was so CROWDED, we didn't feel like we got to see all the animals we wanted to but the kids had fun and actually so did we, well I did anyway Eric got annoyed with the rest of us.......because.......well here's why.....

The kids and I have a great thing in common we love food at events like this. We spent a lot of time in lines buying hamburgers, Popsicles, sodas, ........and icee's but give me some food and I am one happy girl. Who needs to see a baby elephant anyway?

Okay we did see some animals Lance's favorite was the penguins there was 7 or 8 of them and they would all line up and then take turns jumping into the water. Lance howled and howled with laughter and kept begging to go back and watch the penguins some more.

Theses little babies cost a pretty penny at $5.00 each and all three of us kids got one, me being the 3rd kid. What can I say I like treats on a hot summer day as much as any 2 and 4 year old does.

Here they are watching the "llama dramas"....
My boys favorite bedtime story is "Llama llama red pajama", only Luke calls it llama drama, they were fascinated to see llama llama in person only confused as to why he wasn't in red pajamas.

That evening we had a BBQ at Eric's parents house, this picture is so cute of Lance and Miss Julia. Unfortunately that is the only one I got I had to leave early to meet my family at Tepanyaki for my brother in laws birthday. Lucky for me my kids Lance in particular is scared to death of Tepanyaki and so Eric volunteered to keep them at the BBQ while just I went. I have to say it was a rather enjoyable dinner with no kids rushing me through my meal.
Happy Birthday Theo we love you!
