For the Kids....

Dear Eric,

Oh honey, I know you think these Holiday Day of Fun's my sisters and I put on each season is really some ulterior motive for the three of us girls, to get together and eat lots of food, gossip, try on each other's clothes and hole up the kids while we do what we do best -- chat.

But you are wrong, I promise we do if for the kids, it's all for the kids!

For this boy......

For this boy.....

For this girl......err okay maybe not this girl, even I know not to push my luck, she is a baby after all.

But trust me it's for the kids.

These peanut BOO-TER parfaits were definitely for the kids -- though we liked them too!

Our scary ghosts -- kids for sure -- though we may have helped just a tiny bit.

Trick or Treating, that has kids written all over it -- and no I didn't sneak 5 or 6 pieces from their buckets for breakfast, why do ask?

And I am doing no claims on jack-o-lantern treat buckets, this is definitely not mine.

See proof in the pudding.........it's all for the kids.

Now if you were to ask me who the.......
--chocolate covered strawberries,
--lunch at Zupa's ,
--cokes with 5 or 6 squirts of vanilla,
--trying on bracelets, or in Ter's case earrings right Ter,
--gossiping,
--and squealing like little girls about last night's episode of Vampire Diaries,
.....if you were to ask who all that was for?

Well that is just a bonus for us mommies of course!

Ter, Ash I love you, it was perfect as always!

October (non Halloween edition)

A few other events this month worth mentioning that are not Halloween related. Seems I have done so many Halloween/Fall posts lately, these pictures never made their way into a post.

We introduced the boys to our favorite ice cream parlor, that we frequented in our early newly wed days "Farr's Ice Cream" in downtown Ogden. They were smitten, play dough for Lance and what else but orange for Luke. That boy loves orange......orange ice cream, orange juice, orange fruit snacks it's always orange.

One of my favorites "Ready Set Go", superhero style.

They run.....
They circle the bar....
They fly....
They shoot weapons.....
They throw webs....
They dive.....
Right into daddy's waiting arms, to toss them on the couch.

It's a favorite.

This superhero was defeated by Iron Man, Spiderman down.

My dad celebrated his 53rd birthday, we made our way to Tremonton to celebrate for Sunday dinner with my grandparents and all of my cousins. Here is Grandpa with all of his grand babies, doesn't he look proud!

Geez Theo next time pick on somebody your own size.......

Lance came home one afternoon all sorts of proud for receiving a "paw print". Upon careful questioning what I took away from this blessed event was he was walking "reverently down the hall, after computer", and the hall monitor gave him this golden ticket for good direction following and yes he used the word reverently. He is a cutie I am so proud.

Luke went to his very first friend birthday party. His buddy from school Charlotte celebrated her fifth birthday. It was a big event, he was beyond excited to go. The bad news when the party wasn't over Eric decided to wait indoors for him and parked his car on the wrong side of the street. Has a lovely parking ticket now to show for it. Nice, this days after me receiving my own ticket for an expired registration by 4 days. Let this be a lesson to you all, park on the right side of the street and register your cars!!

Grandma Smith celebrated her 87th? birthday this last week.

All the great grand kids minus little Keldrie were able to attend. Love this picture even though it is not remarkably photogenic of any of the kids, it's a keepsake.

Lance had pajama day at Kindergarten this week.

He was hesitant to wear pajamas in fear nobody else would, (so much like his mother, this one). So we compromised he wore pajama pants with a sweatshirt, he felt he could live with the consequences if he was the only one to show up in pajama pants. But he could not live with the consequences of wearing his pajamas and being solo in them.

I understand baby, boy do I understand. I don't like to stick out in a crowd either little one.

In other non pictured events:

--Little Miss is so close to sitting on her own, so close, but we still do a lot of face plants.
--We have 5 yes 5 Halloween parties between now and Saturday, man are we excited.
--it's official we have had the first snow worthy mentioning storm here in Utah. It took Eric twice as long to make it through the canyon yesterday.
--I successfully taught lesson #2 in RS on patience this last week, phew another 5 weeks before panic sets in again.
--Eric and I have yet to be home at the same time in the evenings this week, I am missing him.

On that note I think I shall go watch a little Seinfeld with him!

Whoops one more ever wonder what it looks like from the view of a baby, here is what little Katelynn sees all day long from her adventures on the floor.

Makes me smile!

Today

Today I woke up at 2 am because of a violent rain storm wreaking havoc, rattling our bedroom windows.

Today I woke up to my patio furniture turned upside down and blown over from that violent storm.

Today from 2 to 5 am I couldn't get back to sleep because:

a. I watched Narnia Prince Caspian last night with Eric, and I must be a chicken but I was convinced the crazy noises were the Narnians breaking into my house.

b. I had a popcorn kernel stuck in my tooth from our movie, because I fell asleep during it, and then I was too lazy/scared to get out of bed and get a toothpick or better yet brush my teeth.

Today I let a little six month old share my bed come 5 am, because again, that darn storm woke her up and I was in need of some cuddling from my little sweetheart.

Today I stayed in bed too late, the storm and all made me want to stay all nestled in and cozy under my covers.

Today I had to make a mad rush to get the boys out of the door on time for school because I lallygagged too long.

Today Katelynn kept me company while I was getting ready, normally it's her nap time but she slept late to and wasn't ready for a nap until later.

Today Katelynn chewed on an empty diaper bag while I got ready, until I realized what she was chewing on and yanked it away.

Why yes I would love a mother of the year award in gold please......

Today I shared my usual Monday morning date -- breakfast with my husband. He works late on Mondays and doesn't get home until after 10. Therefore Monday mornings after dropping the boys off at school he stops and gets us bagels for breakfast.
I love this tradition.

Today my wonderful, darling visiting teachers stopped by for a visit.

Today I am reminded of how much I love my visiting teachers and look forward to their visits each month. I totally lucked out with the greatest friends in this ward.

And you two lucked out because I totally forgot I wanted a picture of you, next time be prepared.

Today my visiting teachers brought me my favorite scented candle Pumpkin Pie Spice. I did remember to take a picture of it.

Today I picked up an elated Lance from Kindergarten who is overjoyed that it is Red Ribbon Week.

Today I made a mad dash to the grocery store to stock up our house in food, it was getting pretty sad around here. I wanted to go before it was time to pick up Luke because I avoid at all costs taking all THREE CHILDREN grocery shopping, not a good idea.

Today I had about 2 seconds to return home and put our groceries away before it was time to pick up Luke, therefore we had a little McDonald's for lunch.

Today at McDonald's for lunch I had a hot chocolate, and apple pie. Doesn't that make a well balanced meal? I thought so.....

Today I got home and lit up that beautiful Fall scented candle and my house smells heavenly.

Today the storm raged on and on and on, a little rain, and even the tiniest little drops of snow.

Snow, are you kidding me?

So I did what anyone would do, hunkered down in my house with a cup of cider (I am on a roll today, with the healthy eating).

Today as I was pouring my cider I realized my pantry was completely organized ridiculously. There was no rhyme or reason.

Today I organized my pantry.

Today because it was rainy, cold and a little snowy I let the boys rent a movie.

Today we popped popcorn, and snuggled in with blankets to watch that new Dragon show, can't think of the name.

Today I didn't have to make dinner because of Eric's late night. The boys had TV dinners and I had leftover stew from Sunday dinner yesterday.

Today I realized stew tastes even better as leftovers.

Today I should go get on my treadmill and work off all that crap I just ate, however...

Today I am going to go take a bubble bath and dive into my new book.

Today was a good day........
