And we carved them.....

Procrastinators we picked up our pumpkins yesterday afternoon.

And yesterday evening they became jack o' lanterns.
Warm soup, fresh rolls, and yummy donuts accompanied us for the evening festivities.
There was a lot of deliberation about what would be carved, the usual silly faces were all vetoed by opinionated little people.
Thank goodness for a dad with a pretty good ability to free hand some sketches.....

In the end Harry Potter, Frankenstein, and Hello Kitty wish you a very happy and safe Halloween!

Fall Fun

Can you even believe Halloween is next week?
It completely snuck up on me this year.
I felt like I was jipped a week of one of my favorite months of the year thanks to being sick.
But we have managed a few fun fall activities over the last few weeks, even if some of them I could only observe from the couch.

We have pulled out the Halloween books.
Little K picks the same Little People Halloween lift the flap book to read every night before bed.
I am not complaining though I love those Little People books, so happy and cheerful.
Makes me wish I could transport myself right into their little people world.
They are probably my fave too and I am not even two years old!

My sweet mommy turned the big 60 a few weeks back.
We tried to make the day special for her.
Teri hosted a party at her house.
Us girls made dinner Cafe Rio pork burritos, and my aunt brought a delicious green salad, chips with salsa and guacamole and for dessert carrot cake.
We even played a fun game which is very surprising because none of us girls really like games all that much.
But 60 deserves some a little special, right?

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is my favorite smell ever.
I love the soap, and the wallflower and a few days ago Eric came home with the body spray as a get well soon gift.
He's so cute and thoughtful.

The girl keeping herself entertained while the boys are at school.

Pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes with cream cheese frosting...oh yum!
The Sweet Tooth Fairy is a favorite.

These shoes are quite possibly my favorite pair of shoes Katelynn has ever owned.
So very fun and fallish.
I don't know if I could pull of the leopard but she sure can.

Halloween face mask painting.

Pin the nose on the pumpkin.

Trying to decide if she likes Nerds or not.

Turns out she does indeed like Nerds!
Probably cause she is one.

Halloween cousin party.

Let the candy collecting begin......I take care of all the Almond Joys for my kids.
Cause I'm nice like that.

Eric took the four kids to the Pumpkin Walk last Saturday here in Logan.
Naturally George got the most photos.

That Loubird is a ham.

Harry Potter was Lance's favorite to see.
Him and I have started reading book 1, we are five chapters in and he is in heaven.
I am so loving sharing my love of Harry Potter with him.
It's like reliving them all over again.

Speaking of George again.....the other day Luke made me laugh.
He said "mom we have 4 boys and 2 girls in our family, right?"
"What, we only have three boys Luke".
"No daddy, Lance, Luke and Georgie".
Whoops what kind of mother am I to forget my own son George?
Our beloved baby of the family.

And if you are wondering where all the pumpkins are in this pumpkin walk outing, you are not alone I wondered the same thing.
For some odd reason Eric only took pictures of the cutouts characters and no pictures of the pumpkin displays.
Men, I guess I will just be glad he took pictures at all.
Oh and also keep in mind dad was in charge of dressing and doing hair of the kids.
Don't mind their little orphan looks, K's get up was my very favorite.  Too small of shirt and jacket, and too big of pants with uncombed hair.
Not the most flattering.

Papa Deano was in town a few days ago and stopped by to say hi with donuts.

Papa Deano it completely made the kids day, they ate the entire box in 24 hours.
Oh okay I helped a little.
I can never resist a lemon filled donut.

In between snow storms the kids have been living outside lately.
I for one have loved the couple snow storms we have had but it is a little disheartening realizing our outside days are all but done for the year.
Grass we will see you next May!

Hope your weekend is filled with treats, pumpkins and maybe some fun parties.
Ours sure is!

Little momma and pneumonia.

Sometimes it's so hard not just stop and spy on this little lady of mine as she plays quietly in her room.
I find when the boys are at school it's her time to be a "little girl".
We pull out the princess, the babies, Strawberry Shortcake.....love my little mother.
She's a jewel.

Couple things:

1.  Obviously these were a from a few weeks back, little K is in shorts and today we awoke to our first snowfall of the season.  Yikes!  I wasn't ready for it!

2.  Little K is having a mighty scary hair day.

3.  And 3 has nothing to do with the pictures but since so many sweet friends have been worrying about that pesky little sickness last week...it did turn out to be pneumonia.  It's been a pill to get rid of, but slowly I am starting to feel more like myself again.  Of course I may be coughing from now until February but whatever!  Good health I realized I take completely for granted. I make a really rotten patient and don't do well having to spend my day on the couch.  I get grumpy, weepy and usually find myself trying to jump back into the game way too soon.  It usually takes Eric sitting on me to keep me down resting and not convinced I need to be up making beds.  So grateful that today felt like a normal mommy day.  After 8 days of being home bound and sick on the couch just getting into my car felt so good again. I made it to the grocery store, ran my kids to school, fed K lunch and even got those closets switched out just in the nick of time for the snow.  Pneumonia was no fun but made me so grateful that for the most part I am one healthy girl, what a blessing that is and hurts my heart to think of those suffering so much worse.

Thanks for the meals you made my family, babysitting my kids, cleaning my house, kind cards in the mail, sweet comments, and many phone calls.
I have been blessed with some truly great people in my life, you all know who you are and I love you so much.

Thanks for thinking of me, it made my day......

Girls Overnighter

Such a great weekend I had....good thing cause since then has been not so good.
Memories have been keeping me going.
Friday afternoon I packed an overnight bag, kissed three babies and their great daddy who agreed to 36 hours of alone time with the crazies.
And away I went on a fantastic girls weekend with my three best friends, my mom and two sisters.
Late Saturday night I arrived back home happy and tired.
Sunday morning I woke up with a monstrous sore throat, which then was followed by fevers, aches and chills that night.
It has now lasted three days!
I can't remember the last time I had a sickness that was longer than 24 hours.
In fact if I don't feel an ounce better by tomorrow to the doctor I go.
I can't handle another day on the couch watching my to do list just slip on by.
Why is it so hard for moms to be sick, sure we can take a sick day but then we make up for it ten fold the remainder of the week.
I don't know what I hate more the sick days or the aftermath of the sick days.
To make matters worse yesterday morning little K was up sitting on my bed with me while I snoozed in and out.
I woke up to her dunking my cell phone over and over into a cup of water Lukey had so graciously brought to me before he left for school.
I had no idea it was there.
Bye bye cell phone, it's currently take a rice bath but it's been over 24 hours and nada.
Poor baby I am losing all hope for it.
I have been lost without my instagram, you don't realize how dependant you are on those little suckers until they are gone.

But back to girls weekend, happy times!

My mom picked me in Logan then we made our way down south picking up Ter and Ash along the way until we made it to our destination Salt Lake City.
We faced an awkward moment at check in with the receptionist had a moment of weirdness she could not get over the fact that the four of us were sharing a two bed hotel room.
4 girls for 2 bed, I really don't find that all that crazy, do you?

A few pictures were needed as we settled in, primping a little for our dinner reservation.

With a few cell phone pics thrown into the mix.
Oh just seeing my little baby up there makes me so sad.
Phone I miss you!
Ash this picture makes me laugh Lance said "Ashley is looking bigger", haha.
Have I mentioned little Ash is expecting little Phongsavath 3 in April.
Very exciting!

We headed to one of our favorite cozy restaurants in the avenues of SLC.
The dodo bird.
It was such a great pick.
The weather was cold, rainy, and stormy.
Our umbrellas were out, our boots were on.
Hot chocolate was most definitely needed.
Oh boy I could use a cup right now.

Followed by one of my favorite meals, veggie quiche with tomato pasta shrimp soup.
Naturally we followed it with Toll house Pie but whoops no picture of that beauty we devoured it to quickly.

We had a little time to kill before our late night movie started so we drove around the avenues of Salt Lake trying to locate houses of my moms old high school boyfriend.   He he we force her to do that every time we are in the area.
See what happens when the four of us get together we act like 16 year olds.
It was finally time for our movie to start and yeah we just had a great big dinner but we our all candy and coke addicts.
More treats of course, followed with Ter photo bombing my picture!
We saw Trouble with the curve ball?  I think that was the name?
We had the theater to ourselves, it was really cold outside our chills wouldn't leave so yeah like dorks we brought blankets.
Apparently those blankets were a little too cozy because all three of my companions fell asleep during the movie....LAME!
I happened to think it was a pretty good show apparently I was the only one who thought so.

After a late night of chatting and sleeping in until 8 am.
Yup that's sleeping in when you are used to getting up at 6 am.
We took our nice sweet time getting ready for the day.
And because it never happens that all of us actually watched and styled our hair, no ponytails allowed we felt the need for a photo shoot in the hotel parking lot.

I love these girls so much.

We lost the rain but the cold was still definitely around I was hitting myself for forgetting to bring a jacket.

Hot chocolate to the rescue!

Well worth the $4.25 I paid for my salted caramel hot cocoa.

Next stop City Creek for a day full of shopping to our little hearts content.
My mom has always wanted to go into a store called Chicco's.
We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.
With a mom on a mission for new clothes an overzealous sales clerk and our personal shopper Ash who loves to accessorize we spent over two hours in that store.
Ter and I kept ourselves entertained chatting back forth while mom and Ash showered us with a fashion show of outfit after outfit.
We had to literally drag her out of there, crazy old Tereas you earned your nickname this time!

Early on in the game we had to make two stops at the car to stow packages and then head back to the shops for more fun.

A late lunch at the Nordstrom Cafe.....

Was followed by all our favorite store Nordstrom where another two hours were spent.
My favorite purchase of the day hands down was my new pair of boots I got on sale!
I won't tell you the price I had to say it quickly under my breath when Eric asked me about them.
I just kept saying but "but honey, think of the fact that I saved $80.00 on them, that's a steal for Nordstrom, no matter the actual price.
Thankfully he loves a good pair of boots almost as much as I do, so all was well!

Thanks my girls for another great annual weekend.
There is no three people I would rather be with, and I count my blessings that my sweet mother and two sisters just happen to be the greatest friends I could ever ask for.
I love you!
