Maternity Shoot

See this cute girl?

She's my cousin's sweet wife.....

.....and the momma to be to this sweet little guy.

Did you know she's done a little modeling?

Okay that's not true, but you believed it right?
I know how disheartening it is to see such a beautiful, glowing, soon to be mother with the world's most perfect little basketball belly, thick luxurious hair (yes I just said luxurious...cause well look at it), and her ankles still very much in tact.
I know I hear you.....I remember my frumpy elephant like pregnant self all too clearly.
But before you go on not liking her one iota for being entirely too darling....let me assure you she is also an incredible sweetheart.

Brittany I can't even tell you how happy I am that you talked me into doing this little shoot with the two of you...or excuse me the three of you.
I also can't thank you enough for letting me call you numerous times the last few days squealing over how much I love your pictures.
Eric was beginning to think I had lost my mind when every picture I edited suddenly became my new favorite and I begged him to come over and admire your beauty.
What can I say I take some certain pride in the fact that my cousin married such a doll.
Oh and Zac you are not too bad yourself!
A perfect little family.

Our newest little buddy will be coming in May.

I kinda can't wait.

You see these two had a little heartbreak a little over a year ago and this little guy was prayed for by lots.
I can't tell you both how happy it makes me to see the two of you become parents.
And to watch as this family of yours grows.

That little guy will be so loved.

See he is already.

What a special family he is coming to.

Congratulations you two, thanks for letting me share in a little moment of this happy time in your lives.
It was really a privilege.

Oh and Brit if I had to pick a favorite I think this one takes the cake.
Look at the expression on Zac's face.
He looks head over heels in love with his little family.

Love you both so much, and our new little fella too!

Wordless Wednesday (Beauty and the Beast)

A beautiful Spring evening.
Opening night of City Creek Mall in SLC.
Dinner for two.
Beauty and the Beast at the Capitol Theater.
Twinkle lights in the trees.
No babies for the evening.
Chocolate covered toffee balls.
Long drives home.
Late night stop for donuts.
Finally crawled into bed at 1 am.

It was a pretty good date night!
(I was there I just don't have any pictures to prove it!)

Linking up with and then, she snapped.

Boys Bedroom

I finally had time this weekend to take some pictures of the boys bedroom we have been working on for the past two months. I think I finally have it the way I want it. I am the slowest decision maker in the world. We did this whole process slowly but surely. First we ordered the furniture new beds, new dresser, new mirror. Then I started hunting for bedding which was hard. After searching for probably three weeks I could not find any that I had to have or loved just way too much. I still really loved their red and blue puzzle piece bedding set, after all they were only a couple years old I bought them when we moved into this house. So I decided why I am buying just to be buying, let's just plan the room around this bedding and that made the whole process a lot smoother. Once the bedding was decided it was time to move onto the fun stuff -- decorating! New little nick knacks were purchased a new bookshelf expidite, pictures for the wall and three canvases running the length of their beds. Once those were in place the final touches had to be added -- the red chair, the wall book mount, and the floor lamp.

This is for sure my favorite room in the house right now, I love the way it turned out.

You know what the best part is? The new furniture smell, even after two months it still smells brand new. Every time I walk into their room I take a deep breath to enjoy that fresh wood scent, love it. I keep wondering how long it will last for, is it lame to say that little detail totally makes my day?

My only problem now is wanting to redo every other room in the house....suddenly everything else feels old and ugly.

One step at a time I guess maybe next on the list will be the master bedroom! Of course I gotta save up a little money first.....that's the not fun part right!

Anyways here it is, sorry if I talked it up too much and you are sorely disappointed with the grand reveal. But hey it makes me smile and I am no interior decorator that's for sure!

Details in case anybody is interested.

Furniture -- Palmer's
Bedding -- Overstock
Bookshelf expedite -- Target
Lamps -- Target
Red chair -- Target
red vase -- RC Willey
Wall mount bookshelf -- Target
Canvas Prints -- Costco
Red wire baskets -- Tai Pan
Red toy bin -- Toys R' Us
Blue toy bin -- Target
Airplanes and other decor -- most from Tai Pan
Guitar -- Lance's mini strat from his last birthday
Piggy banks -- Nordstrom (those we have had since they were babies)

It was such a fun project for me, I am feeling kind of sad it's complete!

Oh and if you have never seen K's room and want to here is the link to that one.

Though I am thinking her's may need an update here soon as we think about transitioning her into a big girl bed.
Which if you know Katelynn well you know the thought of that is truly laughable.
Her in a bed -- shoot me now!
My life as I know it would be over.....so better yet she is staying in that crib until she's five!

30 Day Shred

I had a big old end of the week post for you tonight.
We have had a fun week, lots of to share.
But I am too tired to deal with that right now.
Here's why.....

Jillian is killing me.
I have been a treadmill girl for as long as I can remember.
It's my main form of exercise and it's always worked really well.
Until now.

Here's the thing I feel like I need a disclaimer here because weight is such a sensitive topic.
I feel awfully guilty that all of my life I have never really had to try all that hard, I come from a tiny gene family.
Baby weight just kind of fell off.
That's not to say I am not conscious of what I eat and how much I eat.
I do consistently exercise on a pretty regular basis.
I will say I am a pretty rotten lunch eater and basically skip it every day.
Which I know is so bad and not healthy one bit.
But what I am getting at here is for the last year I have been trying to lose those lingering last five pounds of baby weight.
And this is where my disclaimer comes in, I know five pounds seems silly to worry about. I know I am pretty lucky in the tiny family department. I know it may sound vain and I know my babies were well worth those extra five pounds. I know I shouldn't over stress about the paunch that never seems to want to leave.
But I have always been happy at a certain weight and it's bugging me like crazy that I can't seem to get back to it. Even if it is only five pounds away.
Treadmill is not working, those last five are being stubborn.

Enter Jillian.
She came in the mail on Wednesday.
Gave her a go that night.
And being my over confident self I thought level 3 would be no problem.
Then Thursday morning happened and I wanted to die.
I had no idea my body had so many muscles.
I had no idea my shoulder blades could hurt.
I can't lift Katelynn.
My arms feel like dead weights.
My thighs are on fire.
I never want to hear the word abs again.

The only thing worse than Jillian killing me the first night.
Is Jillian killing me when I am already dead tonight.
It should go well ......
I am anticipating a lot of fits, crying and yelling at the TV.
I am looking forward to it.
The only thing getting me through is my Vampire Diaries marathon I am having for myself right after.
I have not watched the last two episodes yet.....so Damon is my reward tonight.
That is if I am not dead.

Until next week cute friends, have a happy weekend!

St. Patrick's

Did you have a good St. Patrick's Day?

Does anybody make corned beef and cabbage?
Can't say that is something I have ever attempted but I do love corned beef....a Reuben sandwich is one of my favorites.
But green was not lacking in our weekend, that's for sure.

Luke had to make a leprechaun trap to take to school this last week.
I had a few ideas.
But he had his own ideas.
So this is what we came up with.
I was feeling pretty good about.
Green checked wrapping paper was fun.
Thought his rainbow was spot on.
My Welcome Leprechauns could not have been better.
Then I spotted his classmates giant shamrocked hill on cardboard complete with a pot of gold.
We are talking work of art.
Our wimpy box suddenly looked a lot stupider.

Hopefully Loubird wasn't too distraught over his mother's lack of artistic talent.

Saturday the kids were excited to see a few mischievous green foot prints leading to the kitchen.
This picture is totally staged for blogging purposes.
In reality the footprints were about a mile apart from each other.
Poor little leprechaun ran out of green paper.
The kids were concerned with the giant leprechaun and his ability to take huge strides with such tiny feet that was running around our house!
Who can blame them really?

I think the leprechaun must read Our Best Bites.
Where else would he get the idea of using Twizzler's licorice to make a rainbow?

Typical green breakfast.
Lucky Charms and green milk.

Our evening consisted of the kids playing with Grandma.
While Eric and I headed to the Jazz game.
Now I must admit I solely go to the games to spy on other people.

My favorite scenes from the evening include.
1. Two rows down from me a man having heated words with his cell phone.
Not a person on the cell phone but his actual phone.
I watched him try and zoom over and over and over again.....Nothing.
I feared for life of his phone the way he was cursing at that thing.

2. Every time the Jazz Dancers were on the kid sitting next to me whipped out that phone faster than I could even register.
Taking picture after picture after picture.
What is he going to do with all of these pictures.
I have no idea.

But eventually the game won me over and I had eyes only on it.
Great game -- Jazz won by 3? 4? in overtime.
Yes even I was on my feet, which really that never happens.
And Eric he is heaven when his team wins, I even talked him into way overly priced ice cream cause he was in such a good mood.

My little sister just happened to get tickets for the same night.
I knew she would be there as well.
But come on it's a huge arena? court? What the heck to they call it?
What are the chances of seeing her in the crowds of thousands?
So I am sitting there happily snapping away using my camera as a purpose of spying on people.
When I see two little cuties walking down my aisle.
You know that second where you can't place what is going on and who you are seeing.
I see Brevy and Elle, yet in my head it's not connecting who they are.
Weird....I tell ya.
But when my brain returned I scooped those babies up and kissed on them lots.
So fun seeing them there.
And not only that but Ash was sitting one section away and one row down seriously what are the odds?
Our seats were section M row 12, they were in section L row 11.
Freaky but fun!

This is a scene from Sunday morning.
Excuse the diaper only, it's a lazy Sunday morning you'd run around in a diaper too wouldn't you?
Scratch that of course not.
She had a little nursery going on in her bedroom.
Look at all of her babies lined up with blankies, while she loved on them all.
It was pretty darn sweet.

I made salmon yesterday for dinner.
Just thought I would share since it was a first for me.
I'm such a grownup!
And don't tell me you've been making salmon for years.
It will burst my high.

For dessert, Shamrock shakes.
Perfect way to end St. Patty's weekend!

Oh actually the perfect way to end was the episode of Downton we watched.
We only allow ourselves one episode every Sunday night.
I will be so sad to finish season 2, we only have two more episodes and then comes the long old wait for season 3.

But let's discuss......the episode where William dies....did you cry?
Don't you love Matthew and Mary....oh the chemistry just kills me.
Poor Anna and Mr. Bates.
Oh and did I mention I love Matthew cause yup I do.
I have a TV crush on him.....it's okay Eric knows all about it.
I make sure and remind him every Sunday night!
