Visitors, The Proposal, and Williams reunion...

What a weekend, it has been a fun one for us, first off my sister Ashley and her two kids stayed with us these last two weekends while Souli has been out of town. That was chaotic but fun, our apartment is not all that big, it was kinda crowded in these little walls, but boy did the kids have fun...and Ash and I did too we even had a Harry Potter marathon and stayed up until 2 am getting ourselves good and ready for "The Half Blood Prince" in a few weeks. Speaking of Ter if you are reading this march yourself right back upstairs because I am not kidding you will not be allowed to come with me to the movie if you have not finished the book, I am only letting die hard fans like myself accompany me, and you know I am a good time....
Ash my mom and I went to "The Proposal" on Saturday night it was a great GREAT girls night!
One of the funnest girls nights in awhile:
great movie
trailer for "New Moon" with some awfully kooky fans ( I tell you what you should of heard the screams in the theater when the trailer came on, and I am very sorry to say I was among them, I didn't actually scream, but I did yelp a little, it just escaped I couldn't help it)
2 out of my 3 girls
packed theater
large coke
.....the only bad part those Rasinets.....(yuck mom)!!

We ended the weekend off with the first family reunion of the year my Williams Family Reunion in ID, great fun and very relaxing, summer is just the greatest!!

Bad Hair Days...

You know this episode on Seinfeld it's one of my very favorites, "The Barber", when Jerry's haircut makes him look like a five year old boy, I am laughing just looking at the picture....and Elaine's reaction when she sees it for the first time....oh man I think I just need to go watch the entire episode...Kramer is a high school equivalency graduate and he likes fruit....the whole thing is just so funny. We are big Seinfeld fans in this household. But why I am blogging about my favorite Seinfeld episode?
Because I am having a great big problem right now concerning my hair, and friends you have helped me in the past with big problems such as potty training, preschools, and swimsuits, (you know life or death kind of stuff). Well this problem is even bigger, imagine that and I need your help again.
My hair is falling out by the gobfuls. I mean really I have clogged my drain in the shower and it required an entire bottle of Drano. It was sad....every night I about come to bed in tears because I am convinced I will be bald before the end of the month. My doctor suggested eating lots of whole grains and fruits and vegetables, but other than that she said it just had to run it's course. This happens to me every few years where I go through a molting spell, I guess I am a bird. I know after pregnancy that hair loss is common, but come on my baby is two and half. I am trying to remind myself that it always stops before anything becomes to drastic and hair grows back, but still. You girls understand right our hair is our security, it's my comfort sometimes, I need my hair each and every little strand of it.
So maybe nobody has any advice for me and it really does just have to run it's course, but I would appreciate anything you got no matter how wacky. If nothing else at least reassure me I am not the only one this happens to and if I do end up bald you will still be friends with me, please!

Father's Day!

My gift went down hill real fast this year, first with the melting in the car fiasco, the candy bars hardened up all right but into some odd shapes I must say. Then when you are an idiot like myself and leave the pictures plastered over the family computer for unsuspecting daddies to see and THEN leave the whole gift on your closet floor covered in a blanket because your apartment is kinda small and you have no where else to store it. Well, the surprise was not much of a surprise, but Eric faked it really well for the boys benefit, and made just the right amounts of "oh my goodness, what's this", they were pleased with his reaction and were very interested in joining him with seeing how fast they could eat all that candy. I think we have the Big Hunk left after just 24 hours, they have made good work of all that junk!

We went and had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Smith's but somehow Grandpa escaped to a church meeting before we could get a picture of him for Father's Day. But I do love this picture of Miss Julia, such a girl she knows just how to pose at only three years old.

We went and saw my dad for a bit after dinner, it was Lance's lucky day because Grandpa had a belated birthday gift for him as well....

Grandpa bought both Carson and Lance their first fishing poles and tackle boxes for their upcoming boys day out in a few weeks. Boy would I love to be included in this outing Grandpa, two crazy four year olds and slimy fish, I want to laugh just thinking about the stories to come with that one.....

What a blessing to be able to spend the day with my three favorite fathers out there. Eric, dad and Steve we love you all so much, thanks for blessing our lives each and every day!

It's Your Birthday Shout HOORAY!

HaPpY bIrThDaY cArSoN CaNo!!

It was Carsy's 4th Birthday this past weekend, my sister Teri threw some great parties for him. On Saturday morning she had all of his friends over for a party and in the evening we all went to Red Robin and then back for cake and ice cream with family. I can't believe these two boys are four years old now, we sure do love our Carson, I have never seen such devoted friends before. Carson and Lance have been the best of friends since day 1, only 12 days apart they have grown up with each other. Though yes it's true Ter and I kind of forced this friendship on them but honestly they really just do love each other. We have tried forcing Brevy and Luke to be friends as well with no success yet, they don't get along real well. But not Cars and Lance they adore each other, hopefully they will be best friends for life, it will sure make their mommies happy!

When I got home and was reviewing all of my pictures from the parties I am realizing the majority of them involve Luke, why you ask? Well because he is wearing new clothes, as the second child and a second boy child at that he rarely gets anything new. This poor kid is lucky if he gets a new t-shirt every now and then so it's a big deal when he has something new on. I just thought he looked so cute in something that was all his own and not passed down the line, I am lame I know but he really did look cute, I just kept snapping those pictures.

Notice the slug in the chair, two year olds so uncooperative, Brevy wouldn't even be in the picture, at least Luke consented as long as the chair came along.
Ter right when I catch up with the favorites from Carson's toy collection for Lance (Wall-E), you have to go tossing new prizes into the mix. Now Lance is needing a Spiderman bike as well, it's just never ending.
Ash and I the lucky mommy helpers at the party....we had fun running the games, scooping ice cream and all else party related.

Happy Birthday Cars, we love you little guy!

Happy Father's Day!!

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad
~~Author Unknown.~~

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys." ~Harmon Killebrew

President Ezra Taft Benson: "The sacred title of 'father' is shared with the Almighty. In the Church men are called and released. Did you ever hear of a mortal father being released?

Happy Father's Day this weekend to all of the wonderful fathers in my life!!
When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years. ~Mark Twain, "Old Times on the Mississippi" Atlantic Monthly, 1874

Father's Day Day of Fun

Project for today candy bar posters for the dads, unfortunately I think I may have ruined mine by leaving it out it in the hot car for too long this afternoon. Who knew a car could get so hot in the pouring rain we have been having the last few weeks, I certainly didn't.

I am not the only one that has a love for Gossner's flavored milks, Luke rather enjoys them too. The best is orange creme, and the root beer flavored milks, they are so good!

A short but sweet day of fun this time......thanks girls good times as always!

Lance at 4 Years Old

A few fun facts about my boy at four years old:

1. He loves Spiderman, we have quite an obsession going on right now.
2. Turning into a picky little eater as of late.
3. Loves milk, it's like pulling teeth to get him to drink juice or water.
4. Hates cheese, all kinds he will not go near it.
5. Favorite movies: Spiderman (cartoons), Wall-E, and Curious George.
6. Favorite book: still in the lead "llama llama red pajama".
7. Loves the park and pretty much anything outdoors.
8. His new favorite hobby is coloring, he will go for hours coloring picture after picture, sometime filling up a brand new coloring book in one setting.
9. Favorite toys: Spiderman Jet, and all things CARS.
10. Knows his entire alphabet, upper and lower case.
11. Learning to write his name so far we have perfected the L and the A.
12. Favorite restaraunts: McDonald's, Wendy's and Cafe Rio (he loves their rice and beans).
13. He loves to help me "teach" Luke, he will always join in for therapy and loves giving Luke the hand cue teaching him new words, it's so darling.
14. He loves babies, I keep thinking he will forget this little phase but he is obsessed with getting himself a baby brother and gets very irritated with Eric and I that we are not on board with his plans yet.
15. Loves to say the prayer, it's a fight to let anyone else have a turn, you would think it was Christmas on the nights it's his turn for family prayer.
16. Favorite Foods: spaghetti, peanut butter toast, CARS soup, and that's pretty much all he likes lately.
17. HATES, HATES, HATES, getting his hair cut (sorry Ash).
18. He is so tender hearted, very sensitive emotions.
19. "I don't like dogs, or cows, or horses, or kitties, or chickens but I do like pigs" a direct quote from him, he is not an animal lover.
20. Love this boy, can't wait to see what this year brings for him!

It finally clicked!

Here is proof that Luke is actually making huge progress in the last few weeks, it's really like something has just clicked in his brain. He says up to ten new words daily and will try to repeat everything we want him to, some are more clear than others. He still has a hard time picking up the higher frequency sounds but boy does he try. Does this make you cry like it does me, probably not, but still you gotta admit he has such a cute little voice. See Sound Beginnings friends I promise he really does talk, even if he clams up during class......we can't get him to be quiet at home it's wonderful!

Birthday Boy

It's hard to believe this little boy turned four years old yesterday, I am going to share a memory of my sweet boy one that I hold dear to my heart. He was only 16 hours old it was about 9:00 pm. Him and I lay alone in my hospital bed while Eric was home grabbing a few items, I stared and stared at him for hours, sure I had had the last 16 hours to get to know him but that was filled with visitors and sleepiness. Sure I had had the last 9 months to carry him and imagine and daydream of the day I would meet him and hold him in my arms. But I believe in that moment just me and him in a dark room his perfect round face asleep and peaceful, the sounds of his breathing and sighing every few minutes, the way he would curl up those long arms and legs and resembled a bug (after all that is were his nickname bug came from) I believe that is when I fell completely and absolutely in love with him. There is just nothing like the love a mother has for a child, with a husband it grows over the years, siblings and parents you just don't remember a time without them but a child from day 1 I don't know of any mother that wouldn't walk through fire for their children, move heaven and earth for them. Happy Birthday my Lance you are a treasure!
A few highlights of his day:
--he somehow conned us into opening two of his presents early, one first thing in the morning.
--we went and saw UP, (our first attempt last weekend was sold out).
--we had 29 people at his party, it was great!
--I didn't have to host it was at Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house (sorry Elaine this is the last time I swear we have a house coming on the horizon).
--Luke ate WAAAY to much chips and cake and ice cream and then we all got to see it for ourselves one hour later (why oh why do I continue to dress my children in brand new white shirts on events or holidays, you would think I would have learned my lesson by now).
--Lance received all of his wish list all featuring either Spiderman, Wall-E or Cars (I am wondering why my child only likes toys featuring animated characters, I swear he doesn't watch too much TV).
--Someone conned Eric into playing the piano, I have not heard him play for ages, it was beautiful and I melted.
--Jill was a genius and brought Luke a present as well, you gave me some peace on the drive home, thanks friend!
--luckily Grandma and Grandpa have a nice big house so we could switch the BBQ indoors when the rain came pouring down.
--Kyle set up the new race track kept the kids entertained for the rest of the night.
--Thank you family for coming and celebrating this special day with Lance, we love you all!
