Summer Days Part 2

Summer Days continued....

We of course celebrated our favorite daddy around on Father's Day.

After all we are all pretty crazy about that daddy of ours.
He sure does give good back tickles.

Wouldn't you say this girl looks pretty content in her daddies lap.

She LOVES to give kisses and thankfully daddy is always a willing recipient of those kisses!

Oh yeah and hugs too!

Lance and daddy.

And Luke and daddy.

Oh dear she's such a dork.

I struggled with what to get my dad and father in law for the big day.
Why are men so hard to shop for?
I rarely have a hard time shopping for the moms.
But the dads a completely different story.
Finally we went with a mini cooler since you know my dad loves to fish.
A tag that said " you are one great pop."
And filled it with "pop" related items.
Popcorn, caramel corn, pop, oh and cookies and licorice just cause who doesn't love cookies and licorice.
Only one problem I ran out of paper and couldn't make the tags.
So the dads had no clue all of it was "pop" related but whatever we tried.....

Did I tell you somebody around here has a shoe fetish.
And no it's not me.
And no it's not K.
It's her daddy.
Every day he comes home with a new pair of shoes for his little girl that "she just had to have."
Oh that daddy he spoils his little girl rotten.
But I must say the purple shoes are her favorites, so neither of his girls are complaining.
We both happen to love shoes as well!
Keep em' coming daddio.

Random picture of one of the Grandpa's opening their gift.
This Grandpa didn't get a cooler he got a "pop" rock CD instead.

One afternoon we met up with the cousins for a day at the pool.
Oh Drakey Bug that smile is melting your auntie.

We were celebrating this guys 7th birthday.
Lance's BFF Carson.

I begged all of my children to take a picture with their mother since I think I have been in two pictures this entire year.
You can see that went really well for me.
Nobody happily obliged.

And she's still a dork.....but a cute dork....with long old legs.

Swimming kind of terrifies me with this guy.
He thinks he has no limits.
He goes wherever he pleases.
And he can't get his hearing aids wet, so he can't hear a darn thing.
Man I give myself heart attacks making sure he stays safe.
I love his adventurous spirit but boy do I wish he would practice a little caution at times.

Summer I can't even tell you how many times we have packed up a picnic for a day at the park or the pool.

My bottomless pit...she never stops eating.

We love summer because we get to spend so much time with our dear cousins.

And I love that their are so many photo opportunities.

We attended my cousins wedding a few days ago.
She was married in the temple but the luncheon was held in a cute little place up Millcreek Canyon.
It was lovely.

And look wouldn't you know I am in another picture.

The beautiful bride.

One of my sweet cousins had a new baby a few weeks ago.
At a family reunion this last week I spent many hours admiring the little doll.
Isn't she gorgeous....I have never seen such a lovely little baby.

Truth be told I also spent a fair amount of time admiring her shoes.
Aren't they fabulous?
Would they come in my size or heck even little K's?

I take as many opportunities as I can to not make dinner.
Instead we hit up Subway and McDonald's, pick up Granny and head to the park on a lazy summer evening.
It's the best.

Last but not least we are frequent customers of the ice cream man.
I sure do love a good Choco Taco!

And summer days part 3 coming your way!

Summer Days Part 1

Oh dear enjoy these pictures from a month ago....yes a whole month ago!
I just keeping falling further and further behind in blogging.
I can't even believe school has been out for almost a month and I still have not blogged these pictures from those last few weeks of Lance being a 1st grader.
Summer is just the greatest and we are having way too much fun.
Way too much fun for little time to spend with blogging or pesky house cleaning.
But that's what summer is all about, let's embrace that and not be sad that I am so behind right now.
I keep telling myself that don't feel guilty for spending more time having fun then recording fun right!

We are going on vacation soon so this is my desperate attempt to get caught up before we leave and I fall even further behind and have no desire to ever get caught up!
This will be part 1 of like 3....you have been warned!

The Wildcat Fun Run is one of my favorite events of the year at the elementary school.
The kids run, parents donate and it's just an all around fun time.

Now I don't mean to brag.....okay yes yes I do.
But this little guy, he ran the full mile without stopping once and came in 6th out of the entire 1st grade.
6th!!
Oh yes he totally takes after his momma, the athlete in me is shining in him.
Yeah right......he gets it from his daddy obviously.
I was kinda proud, way to go Lancey!

Spring piano recital was a success, this little guy loves the piano.
I never even have to remind him to practice he just does it on his own.
The best is Sunday morning duets between him and his dad, I love it.

One afternoon Loubird decided he had had it with training wheels and said "daddy let's take these off, just like Lance."
Eric took them off, Luke climbed on and away he went.
Never even fell, not once, did not want dad's help at all.
That's my boy....good job Loubird.

Sound Beginnings graduation...(kind of, not really since he has one more year there, but still a graduation is a graduation).
Obviously Luke was really feeling the song they were seeing.
The look on his face......oh man I love him.

Two of his buddies that really did graduate this year.
Though from the looks of this picture you wouldn't know they were friends.
He would not allow for a cute picture with his buddies, frown and all, the little pill.
He adores these little friends, just in a mood I guess!

But Stacey he would definitely smile for Stacey.
She was a great teacher this year.
I really loved her.
Luke really loved her.
We are sad she won't be teaching next year(:.

This was the boys teacher gifts this year.
I wish I could remember the site I got this from but I can't!

An insulated cup, a cute little saying.......

.....filled with lemonade packets.

Cute.
Easy.
And practical.
Hopefully they were well received!

Last day of 1st grade.
Good job fella!

First few days of summer we spent lots of time at the parks.

Little K swipes drinks of my cokes....shhh don't tell her dad.

My kids are golden at the park these days.
They all play happily and together.

So I get to spend lots of time with good summer reading.
Park days are only just beginning.

We make lots and lots of home made popsicles.
This recipe was a fun one.
Sliced fruit with a Capri Sun poured over the top.
We did strawberry banana and mixed berry.
Pudding pops are next on our list.

We have so many fun friends that live around our house so the kids basically spend all day playing outside with their buddies.
This girl here only gets to go out if mommy is around to watch her out there.
After finding her around the corner, talking to the cows and drenching herself with our hose she can no longer be trusted.
Actually she never was trusted these events all occurred from her sneaky little self sneaking out with the boys without me knowing.

We have been slowly checking off a few summer projects.
First up was cleaning windows both inside and out.
Eric took care of outside and I did the inside.
They shine now and it makes me happy.
Next up carpet cleaning and garage clean out.....

Had to take this picture because Lance got three new ties for his birthday.
He loves ties and refuses to wear anything other than a shirt and tie to church each week.
He's his daddies boy through and through, Eric loves a good tie.
I won't even tell you how much he just spent on the last tie he bought.
My mouth dropped wide open!

Main street in the summer just makes me smile.
I love to wander it with the kids checking out all the mom and pop stores along the way.
The Book Table and Bluebird Chocolates are two of our favorites.

Little K embracing her inner cowgirl.

Grandma and Grandpa Smith got a new swing set.
See that wall climbing on the left?
There is a ledge on the opposite side.
All three of my children fell off the very day it was set up.
First Katelynn, then Lance and finally Luke/
Though Luke purposely fell cause he's Luke and he's crazy like that.
Remarkably enough they still all love it...even after the falls.

We had a family birthday party for Lance the Sunday following his big day.
Thanks to you all, he loved celebrating with all of his loved ones.

Seven years old is going well for him so far!

And I'll be back with Summer Days Part 2!
